How do I reset or reboot my Digital Receiver?

The Motorola Digital Receivers have their own small computer inside and will usually reset itself after power outages and long periods of being turned off (such as when on holidays) when its restarting. However there are occasions when you may need to reboot your receiver manually, rebooting simply means powering the unit off then back on which resets the internal memory of the receiver. To do this just unplug the unit from the power supply, wait a minute until all lights on the unit go out then plug the receiver back in and turn it on.

Turn your receiver to a digital channel (such as ch 200) for a minute to re-aquire the online guide which will start downloading as soon as you turn to a digital channel and should complete within 20 minutes. You can change the channel once the guide starts loading, you dont have to leave it on a digital channel while the guide loads.

If you find yourself having to reboot your receiver on a continuous basis you should contact us so we can check your receiver and lines to ensure all is good. The digital receiver requires a certain level of data input from our headend and if its too low you may see problems with the receiver such as loss of guide, poor pictures and sound. Your levels can get low if there is a break in your cable line or a splitter was installed on the line after our installers left.
